Netherfield House Surgery: 01912370643

We are happy to announce that our annual flu vaccination campaign this year will commence sooner than usual on 14th September and you may have already received an invitation to attend. Appointments are now available to book for other dates over the next month. You will be contacted by us in the first instance and we STRONGLY ADVISE YOU to participate in this year’s campaign due to the CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC and may prevent you from developing symptoms that may be similar to CORONAVIRUS.

CLINICS WILL BE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

Our first flu clinic will be held on Monday 14th of September for patients at risk and aged 65 years and over.

Eligible patients are those aged 65 years and over, all pregnant women, carers, health and social care staff, household contacts of those on the NHS Shielded Patient List and patients who have a long term condition e.g. asthma, heart disease, diabetes etc.

If you are unsure if you can have the flu vaccination we will be happy to assist you.

The safety of our patients and staff is our priority and we will abide by strict socially distancing guidelines as specified by the Government. Please abide by these rules.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND IF YOU HAVE ANY COVID SYMPTOMS i.e. New Cough, Temperature or loss of taste and/or smell.

Please attend as near to your appointment time as possible, this is to enable us to manage the patient flow and ensure social distancing and if you can wear a face covering it would be greatly appreciated to aid the flow of patients.

If possible please wear a T-Shirt or clothing that can be rolled up to the very top of your arm comfortably. You will be asked to remove your coat when you enter the building so our clinical staff can administer the vaccine

Do not enter the building without being invited by a member of staff as there will be a one way system in place that will be marked out managed by practice staff.

You will be asked to wait outside prior to your appointment so please take this into consideration as the weather may be cold or wet.

50-64 YEAR AGE GROUP

Please note that people in the 50-64 year old age group will NOT be vaccinated until November/December providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first. If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which are eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING!
